Small box making is very satisfying. The amount of wood is small, allowing the use of the more expensive figured woods. Mistakes are also less costly !

Except for the few I have for our home, all of the boxes were given as gifts.

   " Olive Top Box".  Lid is made of Olive Ash Burl.  Sides are Mahogany.
 
 
 

2 Drawer Cherry Box.  Quartersawn Cheery, with Spalted Maple Drawers. Even though it is a few years old, I have yet to install the Pulls!
 
 

"Molar Tooth Box"  The Spalted Maple lid has the pattern of a "Molar Tooth" on it. The Sides are from a very nice quilted/curly Maple board.  The Legs are Sapele.
 

   "Post Office Box".  Door from the Panama Canal.  The Number is my Mom's Birthday. A Birthday Gift.   Made of Mahogany. Box-Joint Construction.   Finish:   Filled the grain, sanded, applied Potash Solution. Applied a very thinned Mahogany stain.  Spray Laquer final coats.
 

  This Maple Box uses Pau Rosa wood for the Insert in the Lid.

Here we have a Double Dovetail, performed with an Incra Jig.  Materials are Figured Maple, Walnut, Spalted Maple and Mahogany.
